you need a drainage field dug sounds like. i had one put in last year, very pricy. if its a smaller prob then i had, any landscape company that has a construction department can do the work. If your in Michigan, Call Stap Brothers Lawn & Landscape in Hickory Corners.

An expensive one. Did you raise the garden tho the point to where it's running off to the garage?

Water only flows downhill. Take a look at your grade. If you can't build up around the garage, a small drainage ditch to another even lower area. If the garden is too high you can change it or make a ditch to move water away before it gets to the low spot at the garage.

Doesn't have to be a big ditch if it's a small area.

Good Luck

Most decent landscape "Contractors" can determine the WHY of the problem and offer solutions. Is this pooling natural or created?

landscape contractor,,,not yard guy, should know the area, the water table, run off directions, grading, sloping, erosion issues, and perhaps suggest drains or find a plumber if this isn't natural water retention.
