The laundry drain gurgles when i drain the bathtub and the bathroom sink gets an odor of sewer gas. Also when i drain the kitchen sink, which is a double basin model, the waste water rises up into the other basin about 1/2 inch above drain before draining out. I don’t see any vent pipes [...]

what are the conseqences of smashing a hole into the main sewer run, sticking in a plastic soil pipe and burying it deep underground in the back garden as my neigbour has whilst bodging an extension? This is to take all his foul water.

They cut through an existing underground drainage pipe (admitted it at the time), and when that turned out to be a problem, they got mad at me for suggesting they should correct it for no additional charge.
